Project update: Possible car, pictures.

Well I might have found the perfect car for my project. It is a 1990 LeBaron GTC VNT, 1 of 25, so it is even far rarer than the old GTC. It has been abandon by a transmission shop for like four or five months and the tags expired in February. I am going to have a friend that live in that state talk to the DMV and fill out some paperwork to get the car, and then have it shipped here. It is going to need quite a bit of work but I am going to buy back my old GTC from the insurance company and use it old parts, then part out what is left and sell it back to a salvage yard.

Anyhow; this thread wouldn’t even be worth reading if I didn't have some pictures now would it? Keep in mind that this car will most likely be either free or $100 bucks at the most, then less than $200 to ship. I just love the interior as well, it has a different instrument panel which curves around and looks so much better than my old boxy one, and the shifter looks better as well, also it has a hand brake, convenient for drifting.

Anyways; on with the pictures:

Passengers Side:

I am going to have some more interior shots and some engine shots soon. So vote and let me know if you think I should get this car if I can, I will probably get it anyway, I just want to know what you people think about it. Also if you have any advice on getting the car at all from the state. I am just concerned about getting a title for the car.

Thanks.

just remember to take lots of pics before the restoration and make sure to show them to the dmv and get an estimate from a body shop of how much it would cost to restore it because if you restore it and the original owner comes back and wants it you don't have to just give it up he first will have to pay you for the work you did to restore the car and the higher the estimate the better because he would have to pay that amount to get it back.:sun:

Exactly, thanks for the advice. I am going to keep EVERY receipt for anything I buy for it. I hear that if you fill out the paper work at the DMV and they grant you the car they void the old title and issue you a new one. I hope that is true, I mean they would have to, to hand the car over to me.

It has the same motor as the last one, different turbo. This one has a Garrett VNT turbo, or variable nozzle turbo. It has two impellers as smaller one for low speeds and a larger one for high speeds. No matter what I am replacing the engine with a brand new one and I am putting a brand new Garrett T3 on. I am also going to have the engine balanced and blueprinted and the head ported and polished before the new stuff is put in. Too bad nothing under the hood of my GTC is usable, and thanks.

As for the head lights, I could, but it would look ugly. I like how these look, plus to doors flip down when the lights are on, and they can cut off your fingers when they go up, HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!

That they are

I don't even see why there is a vote! Get the car, and keep those rims. Diamond spokes rock

That is right, it is mine. My friend will be picking the title up tomorrow. I have also confirmed that it is a VNT, 1 of 25 produced. I can't wait to get it here and get started. I just remembered that I need to get down to the salvage yard and cover the windows to mine so the interior doesn't get damaged beyond repair.
