engine swap?

i have 1997 eclipse 2.0dohc im thinking about adding a turbo to it is this possible ?im also interested in maybe swaping my engine for a better one what will fit in my car i would like a vtec motor in it

You really take the prize for stupid!! First of all this forum is for Neons!! Second ...,, A VTEC motor???!!!!!! What the hell is wrong with you?? V-tec's are for Hondas my man!!! If you gonna post ,,,, at least read before you make an ass of yourself!!!

It isn't that big of a deal that he put this in the wrong forum. I would move it if I could to the DSM forums, but I'll help anyhow.

The 2.0L with forged internals can take a hell of a beating, I say stick with the engine you have. It is much better than any Honda engine IMO, though the B18C is a good engine, I like having torque.

i say too this is no big deal that you posted in the wrong forum. But i say stay with your current engine. Those ecplises 2.0 are among the best 4 bangers out there. Plus there is plenty of aftermarket out there.If you really want some seroius power you'll have to upgrade the head and rebuild the bottom end.

So give us a few more details about what power you want and how much money you want to spend and we'll help you.


And foget about swaping. there are only three vtec engines out there that are worth it but they are way expensive H22, K20, B18. The money you would spend adapting those engines to your car would buy you a lot more power trough upgrading your current engine which IMO is a great engine i say it again.
