No problem with 17" wheels and you can go bigger to 18" or even 20" if you are into the SUV look. Important part is to make sure the wheel offset is good and rim width acceptable. So there is proper clearance for the disc brake caliper and no inner fender rub. I have AR 18" wheels with Goodyear Eagle RSA "V" rated tires P245/45-R18. Rim width is 7.5". Make sure you match the original wheel/tire circumference size as close as possible otherwise your speedometer and final drive gearing will be off. The stock bolt pattern is 115mm X 5.

And congratulations.

BNayor, are those called Al Capones? A friend of mine had some 20's JUST like those on his red 00' GT, but he totaled it. I got an 05' personally and I threw the 17's from the GTP on it and it rides great, the originals are 16's.

Al Capones? Doesn't ring a bell. They are the American Racing Casino Chrome. Total package with tires came out to $1700.

Also, just for everyones' knowledge you can use aftermarket wheels in bolt pattern 5 X 114.3 or 5 X 4.50 which is commonly used by Ford Mustangs. Expands aftermarket wheel availability and fits like a champ even though we have the 5 X 115mm pattern. Wheel offset is around positive 40 or more.
