Re: did i read this correctly?
in a way u read i correctly, but read the last paragraph, that's been known for a lil while, at least by me
Final Decision Accordingly, on the basis of the foregoing, NHTSA hereby decides that 1990-1999Nissan GTSand GTR Passenger cars are eligible for importation into the United States because they have safety features that comply with, or are capable of being altered to comply with, all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards. However though , the DOT rescinded VCP-17 . They modified it to only include 1996-1998 Nissan Skyline GT-R and GTS. This runs into issues with the EPA on a vehicle that is 1996 or newer. The confidential modifications, made it impossible for anyone other than Motorex to merely copy what Motorex did.

Re: did i read this correctly?
Series 2 r33's are the only skylines availiable for import straight out. Motorex crash tested them and tested their emissions. They were made between March 96- 99(99 year model, the last of them were produced in late 98) I made another post getting more into specifics. It shouldn't be hard to find.
