<<Interior lighting>>Please Help!

hey guys, i have a few questions. i want to do some work with interior lighting in my car. so far, i have blue cathodes under my dash, and under my seats. but now, i want to get rid of that stock green backlighing with all the equipment.

does anyone know of any links that can help me change the lights behind the gauges and the radio and all?

or does anyone know how to do it that can share the step by step procedures?

it would be really awsome if someone could help me out. before i jsut start taking out screws and hoping for the best.

the blue lights and the green backlighting makes my car look like a christmas tree. PLEASE HELP>>

thanks in advance!

Re: <<Interior lighting>>Please Help!

Wow I much prefer the green or blu as oposted to my Grand am's red/orange cluster/radio.

Other then replacing the radio LEDS which are costly and a pita , you couldnt change much anyway.
I thought they did sell after market cluster gauges that were different colors... but I couldnt find the link...

This link has a thread for the disassembly of your interior, I think it has some info on changing the window button/Lock lights. The pics are of a GA, but very simular other wise. Appearance-Non-Performance

That link I sent you earlier will help out with the wires.
You can install LEDs in the buttons, but requires soldering in reissotors on the power wires to the bulb, and is tedious work.
An LED will fit right into the factory bulb holderson these buttons.

I used a silicone gel to make my lights blu.
It was for the light bulbs in the mirror, I just cut them down to fit my need.

I Still have the orange glo from the dash/radio/Hvac unit...

Re: <<Interior lighting>>Please Help!

ok well, i takled to a few people, looked online and resarched as much as i could, and im gonna leave the guages and radio as they are. probably going to go with a dark green instead of the blue. a frend had it in his car and it looked bad a$$ going to order them tonight. along with some dark green LED's/ light bulbs for the dome and mirror lights.

also, thank alot xeroinfinity for the pm. it really helped. i decided to keep the stock grill on becasue they protect the speakers more.

all together it took about 10 min to get everything assembled. took the old speakrers out, did the soldering, etc etc. the new speakrs fit into the stock mountings like a glove. the only problem was initially getting those f****** panels out.

anyhow, yea, thanks for the help, the new alpines sound just sick compared to the stock ones lol. the stock ones, had burnt out the voice coils, and i ripped apart the woofer cones. lol >_<

now my next project, replace the stock 5x8 speakers in the doors with some alpines as well.
