Alignment (camber/shim pack) question?

So after work today I decided to do an alignment on my 98 Honda Passport since I just put some new Kumho KL-78 AT tires on it. Anyways everything is good on it except for the LF camber which is 1.2 degrees off. After looking and tinkering a bit I have found no way out on how to remove the nut/bolt to add/remove shims without some kind of specialty tool only a Honda/Isuzu dealership (I work at a Chrysler Jeep) would have probably? The upper control arm is in the way causing a very hard awkward angle to work with. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Micah

Re: Alignment (camber/shim pack) question?

You have to jack the frame so the control arm drops. You do it with the wheel off of course. Then you put a stand under the frame and use your jack on the lower control arm to lift a bit so you can remove the shim pack once you have loosened the bolts. Means you have to have a good idea of how much shim to use so you don't need to repeat. In your case I think about 4mm should do it. (Add for - camber, take out for + camber).

I have written a description on aligning my 99 Rodeo but I don't know how to post a pdf document, or do you cut and paste into a post? It's pretty long.

Cheers.
