E-Brake Light

The light on the dash typically known as the handbrake light flickers on and off in my car sometimes it just flickers sometimes it's off and (rarely) it will stay on for 5 or so min, fluid is fine brakes feel normal (pedal travel and such) i really laid into them yesterday and everything preformed as normal, any ideas what would cause this?

Re: E-Brake Light

Handbrake could be adjusted too tight. See if the light flilckers with the handgbrake on and off. It should click at least 7 times before it engages the rear brakes. If this is OK check the wires at the master cylinder for a good connection.

If it doesn't the emergency brake may need to be loosened. If this is OK check the wires at the master cylinder for a good connection.

Re: E-Brake Light

it clicks more like 4 times when it starts to engage, but has been like that since i bought the car over a year ago and the brake light is quite a recent event is it possible for it to be a loose/dirty connection in the ebrake itself?
