rim sizes

i always wanted to get some custom rims, but i do not know what size will fit my 92 explorer. i believe stock is 15".
i dont want to raise or lower it, im interested in something i can just throw on. could i go up to a 16 or 17 or would that require additional work?
i'd like to keep the stock ones as winter tires and the new rims as summer ones, so they have to be interchangable. any ideas? thanks

Re: rim sizes

You can go with 16 or 17 with no problem if you get a lower profile tire. Most tire shops should be able to help you match the tries and rims so your speedometer stays tru to your actual speed. You can also go on the following site and download the trie comparitor tool on it.

If you enter the existing size of your tires and then play around with the size of rim you want it should give you an idea of how low profile your wheels will look compared to your stock.
