transfer case/ transmission

While I am waiting for the PB Blaster to do its job on my fuel pump line fittings, I thought I would ask you guys one more question.

We store this Blazer over the summer months. Each fall when I take it out of storage, the transfer case is over filed with transmission fluid and the transmission is low on fluid. So, apparently the fluid is leaking down into the transfer case. I simply drain it out of the transfer case and put fresh fluid into the transmission. It does not seem to do this during the winter season when we are driving it each day. Any idea why this is happening? Easy fix? If not, it is no big deal to me as it is an easy problem to put up with.

Re: transfer case/ transmission

There is a seal or double seal between the rear of transmission and front of transfer case.

The transfer case has to come out to replace it.
Might look around in the how to section for information on replacing it.

Watch your transmission fluid level real close.
If it gets low it can wipe out the trans, mission real fast.
