Grinding noise when turning

I have a 2004 Mountaineer, after coming to a stop and then making a turn, for example at at stoplight, there seems to be a grinding and or vibration from the rear end. I have had the seals replaced, a tranny flush and have added treatment for limited slip rear end. Does anyone have anyother ideas of what this could be. Seems to happen the most after slowing from 45mph + then makeing a turn.

I have the same thing happening, and its really getting me mad....but I wonder if you have this going on too, if i apply the brakes kinda hard it doesnt want to go and then i get a kerchunk and it lurches a bit....cant check transmission fluid cause there is NO DipSTICK so i went into the dealership...yeah there was a waste of time....Im just wondering if there have been recalls on either mountaineers or explorers regarding transmission slippage. Somehow I think the two are related...they just want to drop a new trans...at 3K

The cause is most likely in the transfer case. The fluid from the tranny is not shared with the tranny. Have the transfer case services and if that does not fix it then have the spider gears in the front differential checked there could be a broken tooth on it
