Plug it in it's getting cold

Just thinking out loud sure feels good to crank up the beast on these 26 degree mornings and have nice warm air at crank. Thanks Dodge for putting a block heater on my truck.

Re: Plug it in it's getting cold

Mine doesn't make the heater real warm but the motor comes up to temperature quicker.

Re: Plug it in it's getting cold

My problem was the thermostat sticking open and not letting the coolant heat up past warm...the temperature gauge only showed 1/4 after driving a while.
After replacing the thermostat with the correct/genuine Cummins thermostat with the spring loaded washer valve for the water pump bypass...determined with the actual engine number on the ID tag mounted on the timing gear case...it comes up to 190* and heater gets very hot.

Re: Plug it in it's getting cold

The heater core can get kinda clogged if stop leak or old coolant is in the system.
There's a heater blend door (that closes for max heat) that can stick open and allow cold outside air to mix with your good heated air.
