Engine removal

I have just purchased a 1999 Blazer 4x4 lt Auto 4.3l vortec with a seazed engine. I will either replace the engine with another unit if I find one over here in the UK or I will rebuild the one that is in the vehicle at the moment.
Could anyone tell me if there are any issues I need to be aware of when removing the engine or is it a straight forward job, also what would be the best workshop manual for this vehicle. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Engine removal

Its pretty straight forward, but of course you have the front differential in the way. Be careful when you pulling it out in that the distributor can be easily damaged if care is not taken.

Re: Engine removal

A good cherry picker a {frame hoist} on a good set of wheels works best.

If you do not have one borrow or rent one.
Good luck
