Re: 99 suburban remote entry programing

Welcome to AF.

If your '99 is an "old body style" try this.

1. Jumper pins 4 & 8 in the DLC. Pins 1 thru 8 are the top row left to right.
2. The doors should lock and unlock.
3. Press and hold the LOCK & UNLOCK buttons at the same time until the doors lock and unlock (approx 10 secs).
4. If you have more than one FOB they must all be reprogrammed at the same time up to a max of four.
5. Remove the jumper and test each FOB.

This info is out of a '98 GM service manual. If your '99 is a "new body style" this may not work.

Hope this helps and good luck..........Steve

Got one off ebay too. It came with directions.

1. Close all dorrs
2. Insert the key into ignition.
3 Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the drivers door panel CONTINUE TO HOLD DOWN UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO RELEASE.
4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in rapid succession.
5.Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as possible without engaging starter)
6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position
7. Turn the ignition switch to the ON
8. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position
9. RELEASE THE POWER UNLOCK BUTTON on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors automatically.
10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until the door locks and unlocks. This may take up to 30 seconds.
11. Repeat step 10 for each additional remote NOW.
12. Turn the ignition switch to ON in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

OR

Go with 777stickman's directions (which worked for me).
