Ok - what kind of car???? if you want help, you have to give us more information than that. What engine, specifically? Are you going to actually give us the make of your vehicle? Sorry, but it is pretty close to impossible to help without more information.

Re: I think its my fuel filter

Well, if he's here, that more than likely means its a 2000 mali with the 3.1 v6! Never seen a fuel filter do that before, bad fuel pumps usually don't cause random stalls, usually just a no start. In terms of the innaccurate sending unit, does your car have the steel or plastic tank?? The plastic tanks were bad for innaccurate sending units, and GM actually had a conditioner that you had to run through the tank to try and clean the sending unit brushes...never seemed to work. They do sell the sending units separate from the pump, but if you have the tank out, why not do them both??

Do need a little more info...hot or cold stall?? Under load or idling at a light?? Accel or decel?? No such thing as too much info!!

Is the check engine light on? Is the Service Engine Soon light on?
If So any codes? Have you ever change the fuel filter before? Have you done a tune up. Hows the battery is it good? Is the alterantor charging like it suppose too?

Re: I think its my fuel filter

So its a 2000 Malibu V6. The stalls accure when driving, the car will be warm, then would just cut off. If you give it a couple of minutes it might start up.

NOW

I have the plastic tank. I got a new fuel pump and going to put that on.
just dropped the tank last night.
So hopefully it will work.

With old fuel pump, car would not start, it will turn over but would not start.
So hopefully it is the fuel pump.

I also bought some aditives to run through it Like fuel injector cleaner and fuel system cleaner.

wish me luck
dont want to be in the new year with out a car

and thanks for all the replies
