2000 Malibu start & stall constant

Hello... I have a 2000 Malibu with the 3100, v6... When I try to start it, it will only run for like 5-7 seconds then shut off. If i try to restart it again it shuts off after 5-7 seconds. if i hit the gas it stalls quicker... after the third time of starting it the anti theft light comes on... and it still stalls

The gas gauge also reads low fuel and the gauge says empty... but there is gas in it because i just put several gallons in it...

I have good fuel pressure..

Does anyone know what would cause this condition?

Re: 2000 Malibu start & stall constant

Ok Ok Do this open all doors manual lock all but the driver put the key in on (do not start) wait until the light of the anti-Theft light goes off (takes about ten mintues) then you can start your car normal. Question is it the orginal key or is a copy. if orginal it ok but if it a copy it might cause the anti-Theft to turn on. try this if it happens again

the ignition key doesn't have anything to do with it, the lock cylinder makes contact with a passlock microswitch.
