Re: a dumb head problem.

Oh no that's not good. I hear those caps are made head-specific. Traivs had big problems with that. Not sure how or why though.

Re: a dumb head problem.

By NT do you mean NT 420a or NT 4g63? I cant honestly imagine there would be a difference between NT and turbo 4g63s but 420a ones will not work in a 4g63 head.

Re: a dumb head problem.

So apparently I woke up at 3:50 this morning and typed that but I don't remember doing that.

No the N/T 420a cam caps won't wit on the 4g63 head cam caps. May com close to fitting, but it'll either be too tight or too loose.

Re: a dumb head problem.

The head is not bolted between the cams so this doesn't make sense.

You talking the metal clamps with 2 bolts that hold the cam in place?

Re: a dumb head problem.

Oh, he lost that deal? Pretty sure that just channels oil from one of those tubes to another, best thing to do would be to buy a junk ass head from a junk yard. Dont do it yourself either, if the machinist is careless enough to lose it he can pay for it.

Re: a dumb head problem.

I wouldn't use the head if I were you. If he lost the cam caps, whos to say the work that he did is even legit. I wouldn't trust him. And those cam caps are head specific, and also order specific, they're not supposed to get mixed up. If it was me, I'd get a different head.
