Re: Heres some pics of my DSM!!

yo be honest the guy who had it...was a proffessional builder guy who worked with HKS in CALI...and he put all froged HKS internals and stuff and its readdy for 700-800hp and yeah to be honest it runs fine. I have not experienced and problems with it...before I had a DSM 1st gen that would run shiittty without the BOV being recirculated. But this runs fine...Even the wideband says so?

Re: Heres some pics of my DSM!!

that a/f gauge in your a pillar def does not look like a wideband.
http://www.extremepsi.com/store/cust...cat=808&page=1

and there is no way that it is running fine without that being recirculated regardless of what pistons you have in there. The only way ti runs fine is your standards of running fine are seriously low cause I know what my 2g and my best buds 2g runs like without the circulation and its not fine.

but other than that nice looking car

Re: Heres some pics of my DSM!!

I don't care what your HKS guy says, or that you may "think" it runs fine not recirculated, it doesn't. Period. I bet your gas mileage isn't the greatest either.

Also, that ain't a wideband buddy.

So where is the wideband?? Or was it tested on a dyno?

You car will not lose any power because when you are at WOT the bov is closed anyways. Its only in vac are you running rich.

Re: Heres some pics of my DSM!!

OK a couple things. first and foremost we aren't trying to make you look like a fool. We are trying to help. But when people don't listen to us despite that fact we have a widespread consensus and vast array of DSM knowledge it gets frustrating and hence the somewhat (but entirely reasonable) curt responses.

Second I hope that you aren't mistaking the difference between a wideband a/f gauge and a narrowband. The link i posted in the previous post is to your particular autometer narrowband air/fuel ratio gauge. They do nothing but put on a light show, I know I used to have one and gave it away after I got my wideband.
And finally yes both your performance and gas mileage will suffer with the vented blowoff valve. Simple as that.

Silver I would argue that the performance is affected too because after you shift and vent your engine will struggle instead of maintaining RPMS so when you put it into the next gear the power won't be there (for however brief it may be). Nevertheless some degree of performance will be sacrificed.

You need to trust us homeboy, most of us that post on a regular basis have a pretty good idea what we're talking about.

EDIT: Also, either you need to stop lying to us or whoever you bought the car from lied to you and you took the bait like a hungry fish. HKS doesnt make forged internals for our cars. Judging by the fact that your whip still has the factory intake hose, IC pipes, and heat shields, I think you need to be straight with us.

Well put Stevie.

While with the HKS bov, you might not experience stalling because of the way the valve is designed, you are most surely running rich during shifts due to the ECU thinking you have the bov recirculated and dumping the right amount of fuel to compensate for it. When you don't give the the right amount of air it thinks it's getting, then you are screwing with performance, and gas mileage.

As for the HKS pistons, unless he used the ones from the JDM Evo 1-3, they do not make them for the USDM E/T/L.
