Weird problem?
Has anyone here ever had a problem where you are shifting from 1st gear to 2nd (automatic) and the car just wants to stall? arent auto transmissions run by vacumes? 91 sunbird 2.0 tbi

Re: Weird problem?
Most older automatics are.... They usually have a vacuum modulator on the transmission case that uses vacuum pressure to modulate the shift (softness or stiffness) but I have never heard of a vacuum modulator causing this type of problem, however the change in vacuum when the tranmission shifts could be escalated to the point of stalling if you have broken lines or a bad modulator.
