my blinker is going crazy

My blinker is going crazy and making a blinking noise all the time double the speed of normal. It seemed to stop and then suddenly started blinking the entire time the car is running. The only time it slows down to normal is when we turn the blinker on to indicate a turn. PLEASE HELP, it's driving me crazy.

yeah my 03 1.8t does that too. its annoying. but i dont know how to fix it and the dealership here wants to charge me 200 bucks to fix it! so hopefully some1 lets us know how to do it ourselves. im gonna try when i change out my stereo maybe i'll get lucky

Oh my gosh what did they tell you would help that? 200? To do what because my car does the exact same thing but i found out jetta has major electrical problems... Let me know... At first i thought it was my fault because i had a double din screen put in but even people that dont told me that there cars do the same thing...

its actually a recall, the hazard switch. call the dealer and ask if they have an open recall for your car, just give the vin number.

It is the VX recall. It's a very common issue with VW and Audi.
