Your opinion?

Hi guys, it's me again...
Well I got my rims for my Civic LX Konig Helium 15 with Khumo tires 195/50/R15

Also I got the NGK Iridium NX sparkplugs... do you think they work as people say? Do you get better gas mileage? I am a student that cannot afford 3.20 per galon!

I also got AEM short ram air intake... What do you think? Does it work or do I return it?

And finally... a Clarion in-dash receiver with USB... I have not installed anything yet... everything is on the way..

What do you think I should get next for preformace? (keep in mind I am a student)

Do you know if for the cam gears you need to modify them? or you just plug them in?

I know my engine is D16Y7 or that is waht somebody told me since I do not think it has VTEC on it... but... What could I get to get performance and better gas mileage?

another quick question... a turbo makes your gas tank to drain ? or it improves gas mileage? ... silly question I know, but I am a newb

Re: Your opinion?

My opinion?

My opinion is that you should wait until you graduate until spending money on performance upgrades on a car. But thats just my opinion.

If you want good gas mileage the most important thing is keeping your engine revs as low as possible, and drive only when necessary. That, coupled with keeping the engine well in tune will help with gas mileage the best.

NGK iridium plugs won't do any harm and they'll probably last long, but the high cost outweighs the small gain from fuel economy. A short ram intake wont do much help either, a genuine cold air intake would help slightly, but a short ram doesnt have much advantage over your regular air intake. The massive amounts of extra fuel needed for a turbo will significantly reduce your gas mileage.

If you're worried about expenses while your're in school, then the best solution is not to spend money where you dont need to.
