I thought they were bringing the 2002 civic type-r to the states, but i'll double check on that. But i'm pretty sure.

I always thought that the Civic Type R was Canada's version of the Civic Si. The Canadian Si is the US' Civic Ex. So don't we really already have the Type R?

alright boys and girls heres the facts ....

United States SI is a SIR in Canada
United States EX is a SI in canada

Does this clear things up ? I think the only place to get a "REAL" Civic Type R would be in Japan (JDM)

Arrow Civic Type R

GOD's right. But the CTR is certainly rumored to be making its way to the states in 2002.

If you really want a Civic Type R, the biggest feature of the CTR that sets it apart from other Civics is its engine. It uses the B16B, which is very similar to the B16A (engine used in the U.S. '99 to '00 Honda Civic Si). This is a real shredder of a motor: DOHC VTEC running a 10.8:1 compression ratio, putting 184 hp @ 8200 and 118 lb-ft @ 7500 to the flywheel. It's not cheap though. You can get one at this site: http://www.b17a.com/store/engines.htm

It's about choices. The Civic Type R is a mean naturally-aspirated Honda right off the production floor. Some people really like like the smaller displacement, higher-revving engines, like the B16B. For these people, there are scant choices better suited for their desires than the Civic Type R.
