IRS NRP Audit....

2 words if you get selected... you poormotherfucker.

Now I know you're not going to believe this, but I rarely hate someone on first sight... but this agent (***cough *** "cunt" ***) is a total asswipe.

In the event you happen to get selected for one of these fucking things, HAVE SOMEONE REPRESENT YOU. NOT NICE AT ALL - even though the little bitch (big bitch actually) tries to come off all nicey nicey.

Just a glimpse for you... My client (LLC owner) drew one of these... and this idiot agent is trying to say that a cancelled check is not support for a deduction without the receipt. That's right... YOU can say you paid someone for something, that PERSON can say you paid them for it, their bank AND your bank will vouch for it, AND THE FUCKING IRS WON'T FUCKING BELIEVE ANY OF YOU without a receipt!

And tax season is what... 3 weeks away? swell

Maybe it's just my years of exposure to this, but I wouldn't expect anything less, no receipt/support documentation = no tickie, no washie

Re: IRS NRP Audit....

A cancelled check to something... oh lets say... Bob's Lawnmower Blade Sharpening Service for about $20 once or twice a year ... is pretty irrefutable evidence that this guy didn't go out and manufacture deductions.

If your business bank statements say you deposited $20k for the year, your deposit receipts total $20k for the year, your records indicate $20k in sales for the year, you don't have any other income (no deposits in your personal account, IRA, savings account, no extra receipts PERIOD) ... you would tend to believe that perhaps that the business only generated $20k in sales. Unless you're an IRS agent... then it now becoems plausible that a lawn mowing service generates $1.2 billion dollars a year and that you are hiding it in some swiss bank account or in a safe in your 4th home in the French Riviera.

Didn't say no documentation whatsoever... They guy doesn't have his receipts for a particular vendor, because he paid with a credit card and figured the statement had the date, vendors name, etc... it's a pretty big vendor, and they only sell one line of products which can not be mistaken for another company that perhaps might sell personal use products... in the legal system a cancelled check is plenty of documentation... the IRS holds YOU to a higher standard... merely in an attempt to get every last drop of blood (real or perceived) out of anyone even remotely involved with whomever they are investigating.

ASSHOLES.

Keeping anything longer than 7 years is asking for trouble. Period.

Re: IRS NRP Audit....

Neither does this guy... but they'll find shit. You don't understand... all agents feel the need to have something to hang their hats on. No matter HOW nit-picky, how trivial, whatever... they'll find something. It's what they're paid to do.

This guy bought 45 gallon of deisel for his truck, and the agent is trying to trick him into saying it was for his personal vehicle... I had to point out that the price was that of diesel and the quantity would never fit in a Honda.

I mean... come on.
