2002 Radio Dimmer Problem

Ok, well I just bought a 2002 Chevy Impala yesterday and I never noticed that when the headlights are on the dimmer on the radio will shut off and it will come back on. Ther dimmer doesnt even go in between. Now the reagular dash lights do the dimmer correctly but the main time and station doesnt. What could be causing this? All help would be great.

can you adjust the dash lights with a dial... the one to turn on the interior light... that should make the radio brighter... my radio goes dim also when the lights are on... but you can stll read it

Yea when I use the knob that controls the dimmer for the dash it works fine, but the lights where it says the time on the radio, that is that display that is hey wire, it either is fully lit or nothing it at.

my instru. cluster, radio,a/c lights don't work at all... only the odometer and the radio screen work... and even they black out at nighttime... help!
