99 S10 Blazer sometimes wont start during wet or rainy weather.

It's happened several times before. All I've tried to do is make sure the distributor cap is dry inside and that theres no visible noticable amounts of moisture anywhere. But it just wont start. But soon as it gets dry enough weather, it will. Any thoughts or suggestions??

Usually caused by faulty distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil, or spark plug wires. With a spray bottle of water, direct a mist over the cap and entire length of the plug wires, watch for stray sparks when the engine is idling. Do it at night and the sparks are usually quite visible.

Unhappy Re: 99 S10 Blazer sometimes wont start during wet or rainy weather.

I checked the cap, rotor, and and the plugs/wires are less than a year old. plugs are AC Delco. We've replaced the coil and ignition module. This has happened twice before, and ONLY during wet weather. And after the sun comes out and it starts getting dry, it'll run again. HELP!!!!

Just because a part is new is no guarantee that it's good. What brand are the cap, rotor and wires? Ignition parts are not the place to save money, if you want to save money, go to the bank. If you want your vehicle to run right, get good parts

The wires are bosch, plugs are AcDelco. Anyways, it was bad fuel. Put some good stuff to dry up the water in the gas, and put some good fuel in it, and it started finally. Don't buy gas at Casey's General Store.
