18 inch Rims

Ok, again i'm going to appeal to my "newbie-ness" and ask for help. I wanna get some 18's. First, is it possible? And what are the figures and specs that I need to know? Thanks!

Oh yeah, this is for a 2000 model.

18x7...i wouldnt want to go any wider then that with 215/45/18.
With a 42mm offset

You will need to lower the car also if you want to get rid of the gap.

i got 18x7.5 with a 42mm offset and 215/40 rated yokohama paradas and ive got no problems with it at all...and its pretty damn close to overall stock diameter, go to www.g20.net and look in the wheels section for different diameters and see what other tire sizes that might suit you, good luck

Will i have to lower my car in all cases? or only if i get 18's? There's too many dips and potholes in my area to have my car lowered.

I have 18x7.5 Racing Harts on Pirelli P7000 225/40ZR18 w/ Intrax springs. Sometimes when I make a U-turn the front tires rub sort of loud so I have to make a wider turn. The tires are excellent. Ive had them for a couple months and I drive on crappy roads everyday...over potholes and railroad tracks the tires hold up great. Primera man is right...I would go with 18x7.0. My car is dropped about 1.8" and there's still an ugly gap in the front. The rear barely has a gap.

nismoboy1- i like your ride, but gold wheels. come on, imo they look horrible. i like the rims, but not in gold. the only gold wheels that look good are gold daytons on a cadillac. at least that's what i think.

bruing20-i don't know how 18's will fit (i have a p10), but if you get some nice ones, they will look very good. imo 17's look better, but if you get the right 18's they look smooth as well.

I like the creativity of the gold wheels but imo, white rims on your white g nismoboy would look very clean. A perfect match

nah, white wheels are just played out around here, makes me look too much like a ricer, plus it'll be too hard to find wheels that are "aspen white pearl" because most white wheels are just "flat" white and that'll clash with the color of my car...i was looking for more of a clean/conservative look, i went with gold because nobody has that color and i like the look and uniqueness (remember these aren't like 24k or anything, just painted gold), but most people either like them or they dont, its never in between, but it doesn't matter...as long as i like'm right???

ok, what exactly is the "gap" everyone is referring to? I really don't want to lower my car because i already have a tough time going over dips in the road without scraping.

GAP....Is the distance between the top of your tyre and the wheel arch lip directly above that part of the tyre.
Most people like to have the tyre tucked inside the guard.

I can attest to that..I recently put the OE springs back in my car after driving around UCLA for a year with a lowered G..its too much of a pain in the ass....so I will just have to live with that gap...but at least I dont have to worry about scraping and all the horrible noises driving over the smallest bump!

uclandru, yeah it sucks to drive around UCLA especially with all the speed bumps in the parking lots. Anyway, I got a couple questions. By how much did you lower your car? Do you have any pics of your car with the gap?
Thanks.

well I had the intrax springs which were like a 1.75 inch drop, the front was real low, the back didnt change that much. No i havent taken pics with the gap....im still a little depressed that I had to raise it cuz my car looked sweet lowered....Now it looks just ok, im sure those who pay attention to detail will notice the gap, also plus the fact that I have 205/40/16s in the front......if I find a good deal I may want to move up in rim size...maybe make the gap less noticeable....
