Seat Belt Light

What would cause the seat belt light to al of a sudden start staying on, even though your belt is clicked securely.
Rick
PS
Had the car since 95 and this has never happened.

Re: Seat Belt Light

In my '92 park ave. and my dad's '93 lesabre, the seat belt light comes on when the switch is grounded down in seat belt roller next to the seat. Whether it be in the latch/ buckle assembly or down where the spring belt roller is like my car, your seatbelt light circuit is stuck closed (grounded). If you see that there is a wire leading to the latch, try spraying a little WD-40 inside the wiggle the buckle inside, the internal switch may be stuck or jammed.
