Hi everybody.
I think i want to meet up with u guys and share some pointers. Somebody please email me to remind me of this event ok.

Also would like to ask whether ABS is compatible with styrene, ie can styrene bond with ABS? And what abt acrylic, PVC? I mean all these materials are more easily available and cheaper at art stores compared to styrene. (i wonder why artists don't like styrene , some shop owners at Bras BAsah don't even know what's styrene when i asked them whether they stock styrene in their shops)
PS: i will not be bringing a finished car model, i m still working on my Testarossa. But i can bring a Gundam or an Ingram if u people don't mind.

Styrene can only be bonded to styrene when you use plastic cement. If you want to join it to other plastics you have to use superglue. This will be a glue joint and not a weld joint though. If you're really adventurous you can use chloroform. I got some from my lab last time and it's incredibly strong stuff... melts plastic like nobody's business.

To join acrylic to acrylic, you use what Sagacity/Art friend calls acrylic acid. I believe it's also chloroform as it smells similar.

Sagacity at bras basah complex just started stocking styrene rods and hollow tubes, from 3.2 mm to 7.9 mm. The best part is the price, they range from $1 to $1.75. That's 60% of the standard price in other shops. They don't sell sheet styrene though. I've been stocking up on these tubes, never know when you might need them.

Because it's expensive compared to pvc. Acrylic still tops the list as priciest though.
