Town Car Engine Fire
Hello guys
Check out these cool pics of the latest edition to my Lincoln grave yard. This could have had something to do with the recall, but not sure. Sorry Ford it's not my fault that the car burned. Seems to have started in the area of the brake on off switch. The mastercylinder is completely melted, burned out the fender well, melted the fan shroud and air box etc. e mail me I've got more. Re: Town Car Engine Fire
This is the only one I have seen so far that has been burned. I suspect that Ford is at fault in this case. That car in the picture looked like it was a decent old car before it burned. I have another TC that I am getting ready to completely strip down. I'll take all the wiring, brake booster, master cylinder etc. off that car and swap it on to the burned car. I'll get it running again, so I can verify the condition of the drivetrain and some of the components.
I finally got the second letter on my Crown Vic. To bring it in for the repair. I did the disconnect my self. I would like to get the parts and do the repair my self. That's to much of a hassle to load the car on the trailer and drive 60 or so miles to the nearest Ford dealer. She is not plated or even drivable in her current state of disrepair. It's a good thing this old doggie can see a diamond in the rough, and will spare her and other ones like her from the crusher. On the other hand insanity is entirely possible.

Re: Town Car Engine Fire
It looks to me like, the fire started near ECM,and fuel pump relays.
I guess it's like putting a plastic spoon in a toaster. Any time you see a relay, you know it's going to draw some pwr! Check the fuses to see how may amps it takes to burn the fuse. MCGIVER |

Re: Town Car Engine Fire
The relays are melted, but you can still see them in there. The ignition module is totally gone, it took me a while to find it. The wires are burned up real good at the junction under the booster, not so much at the fire wall. The car has totally stock wiring no crappy stereo or alarm install to start something like this.
