Cool Been away for a while

Hello fellow model geeks!
Question at bottom if you don't want to read my rant...llol

i've been out and about for the last couple of year, and haven't really had a change to log on to AF, (i feel old) LOL, it's great to see so many new members have joined, and the absolutely gorgeous work they create, (wide body and such) i was around back in the day when lowering/aftermarket wheels where considered as big mods!

haven't done an extensive such, but i'm wondering if the orginal boys/mods were still around, warren(primera man) jay(jay@af) and chris (flyonthewall) aka S.A.S

hopefully this holiday season will let me free up some time to pump out a couple quality kit, as any avid modeler i've got plenty waiting for me...

QUESTION

Where can i find a "93 Revell civic kit?, i've been searching around locally and no one holds that in stock! is this an out of production kit? i know i've been in the dark over the last 3 years but i know this kit is not that old! any online distributors?

thanks....

here's a sample of my style...it's changed a little since back then! lol

Re: Been away for a while

Welcome back as well mate . I came back just few a month ago from 5 years of being away and it seems Warren, Jay and Chris are still alive just not posting much. The forum is still alive very much, that much I can tell you .

Glad to have you back and sadly i don't have an answer to your Civic Search question.

they appear to be 5-lug S2K OEM wheels, and they look incredible!

Re: Been away for a while

Definitely the stock S2000 wheels out of the Tamiya kit. That's a very nice EG, the smoothed plate actually looks pretty nice there.

If you're looking for that kit, I know modelexpress.net... doesn't have it! Woah. You may try Ebay, but if not, my LHS has one for I think $18 (and do I really need two of them unbuilt?). They're made by Hasegawa if you recall, and they're pretty good about repopping their kits from time to time so if it's not readily available now, it probably will be again soon.

Hobbysearch (1999.co.jp/eng) has some of the SiR IIs, it appears.

Correct! from tamiya s2k, 1st generation. Sorry can't remember the kit #

Thanks for warm welcome back! I find this is one of the more "friendly" forums i belong to, since we actually all post our own very subjective creations, therefore critiques are expected and i feel (from what i remember) members were quite respectful of others...hope it hasn't changed that much!

i'll be sure to post pics of my upcoming build in the next couple of day.....
can't decide what to choose...opcorn:

Re: Been away for a while

I finally figured out why I like the wheels so much.

They are the closest 1:24/25 match to the GSR Blade wheel:
