time sert

ok I know know 4 sure blown head gasket is my problem. So for all of you that are having over heating issues, Let me say that before you go replacing the rad, hoses, and everthing else look here first. The only time my car overheated was going up hill, but then that too got a little worse. Sorry to be the barer of bad news but facts are facts. Does anyone have a time-sert kit for 97 olds aurora 4 sale and any advice 4 free would be appericiated. I have the car at mechanics not sure how qualified he will be at this job. For my sake and the sake of my bank account I hope he can handle it.Also I have been hearing that the 97 olds does not have north star engine, Does it or not??

Re: time sert

Sorry to hear about your head problems too. I went with a company named fulltorque instead of timesert. When I called them up they found a local shop that allready had the installation kit (and experience on how to do it right). So all I ended up paying for was the inserts and labor.

Since you will have it all apart do not forget to install a new intermediate timing gear since that bearing is probably wearing out too and many people forget it. Very bad things happen when when that bearing goes and the timing chain begins to jump.
