ford trans vs gm trans

i am looking for a manual trans so i can do a t5 or t56 swap into a camaro.

so far, i havent found any reasonably priced gm t5 transmissions or t56 transmissions, but have seen a great many fox-body t5's and vipere t56's.

i realize that the viper t56 has a few differences than the camaro t56, but what are the differences between the fox-body t5 and the camaro t5, and can i simply change the bellhousing and flywheel and turn a fox-body t5 into a camaro compatible t5?

Re: ford trans vs gm trans

The Ford and GM T5 look the same and the only differance is the input shaft. The GM T5 has more splines than the Ford T5.

Re: ford trans vs gm trans

Get a clutch kit for a Mustang or you can modify it to fit it to a GM.
