I got it!

All,

I know several of us found our way here after the fiasco at GMForums.

Several others have found their way here after the collapse of b-body.org.

Well after a wait of many months it seems, the url b-body.org came up as available and I snapped it up.

Fiasco... do tell.

I actually found my way here through a Google search regarding something Caprice related.

Re: I got it!

Well, we had a very active 77-90 B-body section a GMF. Lot's of posters and lots of good info stored there. I was serving as a mod as well as others. Then one day POOF! GMF was gone. No warning to the mods or anyone. It was just gone and turned into a spam site of somekind. The admin, who owns several other sites, would not answer any of our emails or PMs from his other sites about getting some of the lost data back.

After that, myself and several others started my yahoogroup.

Strange how that happens... I'll be truly pi$$ed if this site decides to disappear suddenly... or at all actually.

Re: I got it!

It is sad the lack of a truely in depth tech site for the b-body. The one forum that used to be good has degenerated BADLY in recent years. Leads me to spend time on f-body boards for my LT1 tech needs. I just stumbled upon this site one night when I was bored.
You seem like a good bunch of guys but I am the only one serious about engine performance so I think I endup just being a bad influence.

Re: I got it!

Its sites like these that help keep the good ol' B body alive, I see 'em on the road everyday, all over the world... Great car!
Too bad there is little aftermarket support for these cars (especially the 80's box style models)... but if you own a mustang or a Camaro, there are more forums and aftermarket suppliers than you could ever fully take in.

As for these new 'Impalas'.. V8 and front wheel drive... scary, very scary

keep up the good work, this site has answered loads of silly questions I have had about maintaining and troubleshooting my box... I hope this site never ever goes down, there literally is nothing else out there.

I'm sure some of us would be too, if we had the time and the funds *cough* (myself)

Re: I got it!

The boxies have basically the same chassis as the 94-6 cars so suspension and handling wise there is a fair amount of support. The engines are the same as other Chevy offerings, GOBS of support there.

There really is a lot for the Caprice out there just have to know where to look.

The Caprice is my one bad habit, my fishing boat is small and cheap to operate, fishing license costs as much as fuel and maintainance for the year, I don't drink, I don't smoke so all my "fun" money goes to one place.

This year the wife decided to try racing the car and she likes it so it may just become "our" hobby which will make that full engine build I want easier to make happen.
