Ignition Problems on 95 Buick Riviera.
I have a 95 Buick Riviera that wont turn over using the ignition. Who ever had it befor me rigged up a push button start. So to start the car u turn the key on and push the button. I have drivin it all summer like this and the car runs fine. The ignition did start working again for a few days and then quit so I resorted back to the push button. I would like to fix this but I dont know what is causing it.

Re: Ignition Problems on 95 Buick Riviera.
I've got the same problem on a 92 and I think I found the problem. Where do the 2 wires from the push button switch go to? Do they go to the starter or do they attach to another place such as the ignition switch on the lower steering column or a relay or....?

Re: Ignition Problems on 95 Buick Riviera.
This must be checked on site using a wiring diagram for the ign/start circuit, many things can cause this, no quick answer.

Re: Ignition Problems on 95 Buick Riviera.
The wires go directly into the wires that connect to the starter.
