is this possible
i replaced my fuel pump with a brand new acdelco pump but i broke the vent vlave(96 blazer wd) after a 2 weeks and 100 miles my truck just died as i was driveing. it gets spark but the pump does not turn. when a put the key in the on position the evap solendioed on top of the the rear end ticks is this becasue of the broking vent valve?

Are you talking about the Plastic Vent Valve as seen in this photo? If so, I would say that is probably causing the ticking, but not the no-start or lack of fuel pump running.
Remember; the fuel pump only runs for 2-seconds when the key is turned on, then the key must be off for 10-seconds before the pump will run for another 2.

thanks i let the car sit with the battery disconnected and it stop the ticking but it will not start . very little fuel makes it to the vavle in the engine bay and 12 volts are going to the pump but even if i jump the pump at the test port it does not runn its it really that possible for a acdelco pump to die after only 100 miles??

Yep, it's possible. Especially if you constantly run around with 1/4 tank of fuel or less. Thus, the pump will get hot and when you do get gas the cold gas hits the hot pump and they don't last very long.
The pump should have a warranty on it, but it won't cover labor. Go with a Bosch next time.

Another cause of early pump failure is a poor connection at the pump module. The OEM connector has a tendency to burn and cause high resistance which will shorten pump life. Most aftermarket pump manufacturers supply a new connector with the replacement pump. The "hot pump" theory is just a myth. There are 3 spring loaded tubes that keep the pump module from moving around in the tank, one of the tubes is used for fuel return. The tube directs the fuel into the pump well so the pump motor is constantly submerged in fuel no matter how much fuel is in the tank.
