Tamiya Porsche 996 Carrera -- Open

Hi all,

I just started on this Tamiya kit. It is a nice and simple kit, but a little bit too simple.... so i decided to open the doors!! and give it a 911 turbo front bumper!

and the front bumper....i just put a lot of putty on the kit one and started sanding and drilling and sanding and sanding.....

After some priming..

i am still working on the bumper, especially the grill.
This is actually the first time of me trying to make "opening doors".. so any advise and comments are appreciated!

looks really good so far. I have been wanting to do an open door build for some time but am waiting till I get a better grasp on modeling.

i have seen a lot of people done it and they all made it looks sooo easy...
however, the fact is that it is HARD! blood and sweat (literally) i have to scratch build the door sill and the fillings...etc (and i still haven't figure out what kind of hinge i should use or)

It is fun though, seeing that you can complete something, not just building it box stock.
