Tamiya Porsche 996 Carrera -- Open
Hi all,
I just started on this Tamiya kit. It is a nice and simple kit, but a little bit too simple.... so i decided to open the doors!! and give it a 911 turbo front bumper! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and the front bumper....i just put a lot of putty on the kit one and started sanding and drilling and sanding and sanding..... ![]() After some priming.. ![]() ![]() i am still working on the bumper, especially the grill. This is actually the first time of me trying to make "opening doors".. so any advise and comments are appreciated! |

Re: Tamiya Porsche 996 Carrera -- Open
looks really good so far. I have been wanting to do an open door build for some time but am waiting till I get a better grasp on modeling.

however, the fact is that it is HARD! blood and sweat (literally) i have to scratch build the door sill and the fillings...etc (and i still haven't figure out what kind of hinge i should use or)It is fun though, seeing that you can complete something, not just building it box stock.
