Speed Governor

I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS Sedan with the 2.4Ltr. The car is great, it's quick and ok on gas. I have a few mods that has done wonders for my 0-60. But, the speed limiter is a problem in the snow for me, once you hit a little bit of snow, the car goes into like a robot mode and shuts off gas supply. I know how to drive in the snow and that is messing with me greatly. I want to disable the factory governer and was wondering if "JET PERFORMANCE MODULES" would do it? They offer a computer module for the cobaltSS 2.0 and 2.4; Anyone familiar with this product and capabilities?

That sounds like traction control to me. Nothing to do with a speed limiter/governor. Either that or you are revving the hell out of the engine and bouncing it off the rev limiter during wheel spin. REAL bad for the transaxle BTW. Things tend to go pop if if you grab traction ($$$$).

technically it is illegal to remove the speed limiter/governer on a vehicle that is registered for ON-ROAD use. now that the legal statement is out of the way, it can be done with aftermarket engine management systems. i in no way endorse doing this, nor reccomend it.

Re: Speed Governor

do you have the gauge controller module as well? if so, might wanna try routing the gauges through that, and disabling the speedo signal to oem ECU. is the car track only or street as well?

LMFAO if your smart enough to get a 2.2 ecotec to 110 on the track, you can remove the speed limiter.
