general info about s14/s15's

i was just wondering what the lighteset model s14/s15 is. also wondering about the safest yet highest amont of psi you can run a stock sr20DET. and if i ever buy a 240 and have the money...i was wondering if i could fit a r32/33/34 into the 240 without shaving anything out from under the hood. thank you.

p.s. sorry about my lack of knowledge. i have a 95 civic ex. ive been a honda type guy for a couple years. after seeing what silvia's can do, i want one. just seeing if they are worth it. thanks again everybody.

Re: general info about s14/s15's

S13 is the lightest, then S14, then S15 by about 50lbs.

Look in the FAQ for the boost.

Fit an R-chassis in an S-chassis? Not a chance.

But assuming you mean motor, and just suck at typing. Yes, but its a tight fit, and you cant run Twin Turbos on the 26.

My car has an R32 GTS-T motor. RB25 and RB26 take more work, but can be done.

IT IS NOT CHEAP, IT IS NOT EASY.

If your here searching and typing like that, odds are you arent up to the task.

agreed. plus arent you a little late on this whole bandwagon? i thought all the honda riceboys already jumped ship. seems like maybe we have to wait a little longer for the ricers to forget about us. go get a 240, then try and fix it up like you fix up your honda, then get mad when its not all that you hoped, then sell it back to a real 240 enthusiast and go buy another honda. just like so many others.

Woaw, what the hell! I was under the impression that u could run an RB26DETT in a 240. SCC even did an artcle about a white daily driven S14 with a DETT setup. I know it was a TT cuz I said "I want that shit".

Re: general info about s14/s15's

Its been done a couple times.

It cost upwards of $10K-15K for the swap and requires lots of customization and knowledge.

People who have swapped RB's and SR's have given up on the 26 swaps.

To the average 240sx owner it is not a possible swap, even with a single turbo.

Re: general info about s14/s15's

Yeah but doesnt a RB25 setup also cost close to 10k? Why not go all the way and get the 26 for a couple thousand more?

P.S. Im not made of money and I know a couple thousand more is still a couple thousand more, but if ur saving that much in the first place then u prob. have enough to save a little more (couple thousand).

And yeah ur basically paying for the expertise, customization, and knowledge of someone else doing it.

good answer, but that is yet to be seen. anyways, when swapping in an SR20, you need a new exhaust and fuel pump, so those wont limit you, the power you can get leaving other things stock is limited by your fuel injectors and cooling system. replace those and the turbo is the next limiting factor. get a wideband O2 sensor to keep an eye on your A/F ratio when upping the boost so you know when the injectors are close to maxing out.
