ABS light only comes on over 100km

Hi there i drive 1997 Cavalier Z24 and my ABS light only comes on when i go over 100 and over. i just had the sensor replaced? could it be the wire? i also replaced my axle seal cause my transmission was leaking. Could it be the ring of the axle? not sure but very frustrating. any help would be great thank you to all

Re: ABS light only comes on over 100km

I had the same problem with my 99 cav. If you look at the recalls on the caviliers you will see that the abs sensor wiring was a recall. When i had the problem i ohmed out the wires and check the sensors with an oscilloscope and there was no problem. So I pulled the pigtail apart and cleaned it up put dielectric grease on it and used heat shrink for a weather proof. Dude i haven't had a problem since. Like i said if you check out the recalls it and TSB's it will list all this stuff.

Do you have any noises, vibration, shimmy coming from the front end? Since your car's wheel speed sensor picks up it's signal from a reluctor on the axle shaft, anything that would cause excessive vibration in the front end (bad hub, out of balance tire, bad tie rod, etc...) could cause an ABS issue as speed increases.
