2000 blazer 4x4 problem....

We got some snow today and i went to put the blazer in 4wd and you hear it click but the light just flashes...does it in 4hi, 4lo, & 4wd auto....We've only had this thing for a few months and i checked to make sure 4wd worked b4 we bought it and it did...The blazer had been in a crash but was fixed b4 we bought it and like i said the 4wd worked b4 we bought it...I checked the fuse and its good...I havn't tried to disconnect the battery yet...i know a few weeks ago my dad called and said it was dead and wouldn't start...but then went out and messed with the cables and its started fine since....Blazer has 83k miles....Any helps is appreciated...thanks
