2000 Kia Sportage Door Locks
The door locks on my 2000 Sportage will lock when I am driving the car, and will not release when I try to open the driver's door after I turn off the engine. I can unlock the car by manually pulling up the lock on the drivers door from the inside. I can lock the car normally with the key, and all locks do work.
Anyone have this problem or any ideas on how to fix it? Thank You |

Re: 2000 Kia Sportage Door Locks
THis is an EX, isn't it..cause I do not have that option. DO you mean it would unlock automatically before? However, I've seen other cars doing exactly what you describe....it was normal...and annoying.

This is not an EX. It's a base model.

Re: 2000 Kia Sportage Door Locks
From those diagrams
www.avigex.ca/kia/doorlock1.gif www.avigex.ca/kia/doorlock2.gif it seems the door cylinder switch, the one used with the key, is the only one existing so I conclude it would be a mechanical linkage what would act on it when pulling the door handle from the inside.
