Dropping Manual Tranny in 2.2L Question

I am wondering if I need to remove the shifter housing assembly for clearance when lowering the tranny. Anyone know?

Yes you need shifter stick out of the road.
If it is the 4 bolt on cover type shifter on top of transmission you can lower crossmember and transmission some and unbolt it from top of transmission and hang it up out of road.

Some transmissions you can pull boot in floor board and remove it from the top depending on the year and what transmission you have.
Good luck
