Dripping dash

My 91 Geo Prism runs great, but is dripping some kind of oil from the dash onto my shoes. I cannot see where it is coming from, but is dripping down onto my driving foot. Just started today, nothing is low under the hood. It does smell burnt. Looked up from floorboard, fluid on cables and mounts dripping down to floor. How?

Re: Dripping dash

if you have a oil pressure guage I would look there to start with. you wouldnt notice a big drop in oil on the dip stick eather. a drop of oil goes a long ways.

Re: Dripping dash

I found it. I explain it all in the Prism area. The tranny is pushing fluid up and thru the speedo cable. Its dripping its way back down to the brake pedal from there.

Re: Dripping dash

ed408140 I spoke to a few mechanics and was told that there is a seal that connects the spedometer cable to the trans. It may be faulty and should be replaced.I'm going to try and see if that takes care of the problem.

Re: Dripping dash

I took mine back to the place that replaced my tranny, I don't know if its fixed. Please let me know if you find the part number that will fix it.
