Transmission Problems

Have a 2000 ford windstar van pulling out of work i hit a patch of ice, and the front wheels started to spin then i heard a loud clunk like i hit a pothole (which i didn't) and the car rolled to stop, Engine runs but when i put the transmission into gear it does not move when i set it to park I hear a grinding noise from the front end (almost like you put the car into park with out it being stopped)

I ideas? and or thoughts

Thanks in advance!

Re: Transmission Problems

How many miles on it. I would check the axles and CV joints first. Its unusual for a transmission to go just like that but I don't have that much experience with Windstars.
