Question Help needed ... carb

Hi

When i bought my caprice it had another carb then the original and lots of wires are not plugged into it and the "CHECK ENGINE" light is always on.

What is the module number or something of the original carb for 305 classic brougham 1988 that will help me in looking for it.

thanks

Re: Help needed ... carb

The carb you want is the E4ME Quadrajet.

There are different numbers for different carbs. Any 1987-1988 Chevy carb should work with a little tuning.

in '89 and '90, all SBC powered boxys were EFI. V6 powered Caprices received EFI beginning in 1985 with the 4.3.

In terms of wagons, the 307 Olds stayed carbureted 'till the end of it's run at the end of 1990 correct?
