Thermostat

Hey guys! Does anybody have instructions on how to change the thermostat on 05 Cavalier 2.2. Also does anybody know where I can get a repair manual for that year, I can't find one anywhere. Thanks

Re: Thermostat

The location on some Cavalier's thermostats is in front of the motor, rather than at the normal place on the end of the upper radiator hose at the end of the head. If you've never changed a 2.2 thermostat it's kinda confusing.

Re: Thermostat

trace the lower radiator hose back to the motor on the driver side of the motor. It goes right to the thermostat housing. You shouldn't have to disconnect the hose from the housing to remove it. Just expect a shit load of coolant to come out.

Get a haynes manual 38016 from a part store. It says it covers 95-04 cavalier. But nothing has changed on your 05.
