Hesitant Start on 97 GT

For a split second my car (97k) is hesitant starting up especially in the cold weather. Another thing is it takes about 10 minutes for the car to warm up (thermostat goes up).

Is this normal?

By hesitant to start, do you mean it cranks a little longer than normal before firing up, or that there's a delay when you turn the key before anything happens?

Re: Hesitant Start on 97 GT

You may want to check out the battery. My car has been starting slow and I had to keep the key in crank position an extra second or two before the engine turned over. Until one cold night at a gas station, my car died (luckily I have AAA). I promptly went to Sears next morning and put in a Die-Hart Gold; I feel like my car has electric start

6+ years is no bad for my Delco battery! My other Delco lasted 7+ yrs.

I thought it might be the battery too. I think I might take it to Autozone so they can test it for free.
