Re: 72 caprice bumper

Any 1972 Chevy B-body will work. Doesn't matter the model - Caprice, Impala, Bel Air, etc.

An interesting aside - the Bel Air models typically had one fewer tail lamp on each side than an Impala - EXCEPT in 1972. ALL of these cars had three lamps on each side (actually one long bar of plastic).

Tell me about it!!! I own a '64 Bel Air, and am in the process of restoring it, ( had it since 1992.) Anyways, I have it parked on the side of my driveway out of the way and just about every week at least one or two people stop by asking if the "Impala" is for sale. I then tell them it's not a Impala, rather it's a Bel Air, and then go on to explain the differences between the models and how to distinguish by their taillights. At least they leave my house a little more knowledgeable about Impala/Bel Air history .

Re: 72 caprice bumper

Check out the demolition sites. Anyone crashing a 72 will "always" change out the front bumper to 74 -76 model. So, a good deal can be made for a 72 bumper. Try this site in the gm classifieds. Good luck.
