Drivers heated seat does not work

The heated seat function does not work on the drivers seat on my 99 suburban. The passenger heater works. The electrical movements of the seat also are also working, just no heat.

I was hoping that it was a fuse, but have not found any blown fuses. I am not even sure which fuse controls this circuit.

I have not done much trouble shooting beyond what is described above. I was wondering if anyone else has had this trouble and what how they fixed it. It is just too bloody cold to sit outside working on this thing right now! Thanks.

Re: Drivers heated seat does not work

The elements in the seat and seat back have gone bad from the flexing of you getting in and out of the vehicle. Try these for replacement elements

Re: Drivers heated seat does not work

Well H2, I had a similar problem on my 04. The heater for the drivers seat would go on and off (mostly on) all by itself. It is very aggravating especially in the summer.

I took it to the dealer, actually dealers, four times and they could not find the problem. They tried to replicate the problem and naturally it wouldn't do it at a dealer. So they told me since they couldn't make the heater go on randomly, that there was nothing to fix.

I finally gave up and traded the damn thing.

Good Luck!
