Post Would you buy another one?

I'm looking to replace our totaled Saturn Ion with a crew cab Colorado, I checked and they can be towed on all four wheels behind our RV and the weight looks to be within reason.
So all those Colorado owners out there would you buy another one?
Maybe things/options to avoid or a must have?
Thanks Tom

Re: Would you buy another one?

I bought a 2006 Crew Cab, Z71 4x4, 5 Cyl., Auto. I upgaded from my 98 S10 2WD (of which I never had a problem - just out grew it), I am pretty happy with it, I did expect a little better mileage out of it though, only a few minor problems so far, front axle actuator switch replaced, window seal replaced, and a cup holder replaced, 33K on it right now.

The 4 Door convenience combined with the truck bed is really handy, and it will tow up to 4K - that's what appealed to me. I think the 5 Cyl. offers plenty of power for this size of truck.

Re: Would you buy another one?

Nearly 70,000 happy mile on my 2005 Colorado 3.5L crew cab. No major issues to report and I don not baby it. I haul around over 600lbs of gear in the bed at all times as I work out of it. It has averaged 18-20 mpg with a 60/40 hwy/cty mix. I would gladly buy another!!

Re: Would you buy another one?

You guys with Colorado's/Canyon's. I have a question. I'm going thru the buyback program with my 99 Toyota Tacoma. I've been a GM man all my life. Bought the Tacoma in hoping to get thru my son's college years without having any dependability issues. Replaced my 94 Silverado with 170,000 mi. Now I'm back in the Chevy waiting for my check. The looks of the Colorado are starting to grow on me. I like the 4 door version because of the extra room as opposed to the Tacoma x-tra cab. My question is do the rear seats fold up in any way like my Silverado does? I suppose I could take the seat bottoms out if I had to.

Re: Would you buy another one?

Welcome back to the world of GM!

Unfortunately, the rear seats in these Colorado/Canyon trucks do not fold "up" like the Silverado. The seat back of the rear seat folds down.

Re: Would you buy another one?

Every Colorado in our company's fleet has had to have the engine worked on under warranty. Some were head problems, and then there were injector problems, but everything was serious. I had a '97 S-10, 4.3L V-6, which is now on its third owner and still looks brand new and runs like a raped ape. I drove some of the company-owned fleet Colorados just as a comparison and all I can say is Chevy did not do the public any favors with this S-10 wanna-be. I was looking to see if Chevy still offered a 4 X 4 in the S-10 body style. After seeing what piss poor excuse for a 4 X 4 they had to offer, I drove an Xterra and never looked back. Limited slip, downhill descent control, computer controlled traction control, 276 hp and 284 ft.lb of torque and all with the air conditioning on in Utah, where I grew up. The only drawback to the Xterra is the case hardened aluminum front differential and the lack of a solid front axle, but there is supposed to be an aftermarket kit available soon to take care of this. But, no I would not buy a Colorado.
