Loss of power at 100mph

I finally decided to open my '00 GT up on this nice stretch of road & when I hit 100mph, I would loose power for about 3 seconds & then it would kick back in. This loss of power happened continually & only at this speed.

Is this common on these vehicles?

Re: Loss of power at 100mph

Sounds like a speed limiter, governor. My Camaro did the same at 115.

That makes sense. I don't know much about governors/speed limiters, but I thought they only prevented the car from being rev'd too high in the park position. Thanks for the insight.
